We have a great opportunity for a Legal Director to join our team based in Luton

We are looking for an exceptional Director to keep the company and its employees safe by guiding the company to achieve a practical balance between risk and reward in its operational activities. The global risk appetite sets a framework within which Randstad wishes to operate and the Legal Director ensures the process, systems and controls are in place to achieve this goal.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the provision of timely and pragmatic legal and commercial support to colleagues throughout the organisation
  • Identify and understand common sources and types of matters and establish target operating models for handling such matters
  • Operate a continuous improvement model across legal and commercial support to ensure the team adapts to the changing nature of the organisation
  • Identify opportunities and implement solutions to enable colleagues to transact business more efficiently
  • Monitoring new legislation and ensure its effect on Randstads UK&I operationally complies with its requirements
  • Ensure all licencing, registrations and accreditations are kept current and upto date
  • Responsible for ISO9001 and Ethical Labour Sourcing standards compliance
  • Drive continual improvement of data protection related processes such as subject access requests and request to be forgotten

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be admitted as a solicitor or barrister in England and Wales
  • Have significant post-qualification experience
  • Be able to demonstrate when you have managed a team (circa 20 heads)
  • Experience of working in house in an international business
  • Management experience
  • Be comfortable with working with complex multi-stakeholder relationships
  • Expertise in managing people, projects and process improvement
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly
  • Understanding the influence of technology on delivery of legal services e.g. use of machine learning in contract analysis
