Primary purpose of the role:    

To ensure all procurement activity across multiple indirect categories is fully optimised, according to the category plan agreed with the budget holder. To achieve significant saving opportunities and value add, through leveraging spend across Randstad UK and drive the central P2P processes and policies.     

Key Responsibilities 

  • To support, develop and manage indirect spend categories across the combined UK businesses, as agreed with the UK Head of Procurement & Property (HOP)
  • Deliver annualised savings and added value as agreed with the HOP through 1:1, performance review and KPI meetings
  • Generate internal and market data to benchmark proposed activities to scope projects and opportunities. Prepare reviews of supplier spend to present to HOP. Analyse data to succinctly present opportunities to both HOP and budget holder in order to create buy-in
  • To work closely with all stakeholders across the organisation to deliver contracted savings from quick win, reactionary opportunities and detailed full sourcing plans
  • Develop negotiation and conditioning activity internally and externally at various stages of the source plan
  • To find initiative and flexible solutions to sourcing requirements for varying indirect categories, business requirements and service levels
  • To act as primary contact for centralised UK wide categories. To drive compliance and best practice through proactive use of management information and business reviews. To develop additional opportunities through proactive supplier management
  • Manage the contracting phase for new and existing suppliers with the Legal department
  • Generate management information, reports and internal data as required through engagement with suppliers, stakeholders and business functions such as Management Accounts
  • To develop ethical and green procurement opportunities, manage CSR reporting as required
  • Support the Property team with proactive procurement activity to deliver value whilst maintaining high service levels and responses to time sensitive lease events
  • Proactively manage and develop suppliers to manage service levels and develop further opportunities
  • To participate and engage with the Global Procurement Community across multiple Countries and international stakeholders, contributing to global sourcing strategies and data generation
  • To fully manage the UK P2P policy working closely with stakeholders on agreed processes utilising the PO/AP system where appropriate. Interact closely with accounts payable to manage supplier requirements around Ts&Cs, supplier code, payment terms etc 

Key Skills 

  • Process and data driven, well organised with an eye for detail and opportunities
  • Ability to push suppliers for best deals utilising strong negotiation skills
  • Must be analytically minded with proven excel experience and ability
  • Excellent verbal, written and negotiation skills
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills across a matrix organisation and all levels of management
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines. Must be able to react quickly to opportunities
  • Desire to positively and proactively influence the business
  • Ability to act independently with agreed objectives and strive to over exceed targets 

Desirable 

  • Experience with the following categories – Marketing, IT, HR, Travel, Hospitality / conferencing
  • Experience of utilising PO / AP & contract management systems
  • Global category management experience
  • CIPS qualified
