Job: Operations Manager
Location: Skelmersdale
Salary: £40K - £45K + Quarterly Bonus + Company Benefits
Responsible for the success and smooth running of the production line via the embedded on-site strategic and operational delivery teams.
The main focus is to ensure high performance, quality and consistent campaign success to achieve KPI/SLA targets. The Operations Manager is responsible for identifying and driving all continuous improvement (CI) initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
- Direct line management responsibilities for the Randstad Delivery Team and Operational Team including but not limited to performance reviews, 1-2-1s and development plans
- Accountable for the training of the operational delivery team to achieve operational excellence and meet client KPI expectations.
- Ensure shift performance is supervised and monitored effectively and consistently by the Area Owners
- Ensure HR tasks are carried out by the Account Specialists consistently and in line with company policies, including recruitment, onboarding, training, development, performance management, sickness, absence management, payroll and payroll
- Ensure the onsite team are customer focussed, driving the necessary behaviors to meet RCS commitments relating to HS&E, Quality and innovation
- Monitor sickness and holidays, ensuring adequate cover for your direct reports and for the wider operational delivery team through management and supervisory team.
- Ensure machine and equipment issues are reported quickly, following agreed processes and escalation procedures, so they are resolved with minimum disruption and downtime reports updated
- Liaise with schedulers and line leaders to plan and manage resources to ensure the required workforce is in place to meet production targets.
- Develop collaborative relationships with client stakeholders to ensure awareness of workflow interdependencies with other departments
KPI’s:
- Accountability for maintaining all productivity records that will demonstrate adherence to KPI targets and drive the output based billing process
- Responsible for delivering regular governance review meetings and providing insight and strategic advice from our MI reporting and KPI performance
Required experience:
- Significant proven experience in a a third party logistics (3PL) or production environment with supervisory / management roles
- It is essential that the Operations Manager either holds a Green Belt Six Sigma qualification or demonstrates the competency to attain this standard
- Experience of managing large teams within a warehouse or production environment
- A natural leader with a coaching management style
- Able to display excellent communication and leadership qualities
- Competent Excel or Google Sheets
- Excellent HS&E knowledge
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Confident in analysing data and producing reports
- Proven experience of initiating and driving continuous improvement and innovation

- Succession planning through people development and coaching
