Primary purpose of the role: |
|
To work as part of the HR Shared Services team to provide a professional, comprehensive, proactive and responsive HR service, with a particular emphasis on Employee Relations and HR administration, to the business, through the day to day delivery of standardised processes. |
Key Responsibilities: Generalist HR Advice
- Challenge, coach and support managers and consultants on all HR best practices.
- Support the HRBP and Senior HR Advisor in providing a proactive, responsive and professional HR Shared Service
- Support the business with performance issues including disciplinary, redundancy and grievance hearings
- Responsible for adhering to Randstad Global HR standards and other best practice and quality standards
- Increase the capability of managers to improve overall performance through provision of expert advice and support
- Support the business with employment status and flex worker queries
- Proactively ensure knowledge of UK employment legislation is up to date in order to perform an “ambassador” role and be the first point of contact for all low level generalist HR matters
HR Priorities
- Ensure timely production of weekly, monthly, quarterly MI, analysing company data such as exit interviews and leaver information, absence, PDPs etc. to satisfy HR reporting requirements within your business line
and to adopt a proactive and highly organised approach in identifying new project areas and tackling tasks
- Assist with projects and other activities as directed by the HR Shared Services Manager
- Assist the HR team in maintaining, updating and communicating Human Resources policies and procedures
- Assist with the development and application of the HR priorities

Human Resources Administration Deliver a best in class administration service, supporting on the following tasks:
- Production of contractual correspondence: to include offer letters and contracts, reports, forms, and other documents, new starter packs, requesting and tracking references
- Ensure all employee information is obtained and stored within the Human Resources Department: to include CVs, employment references, personal details, emergency contact details, and other relevant employment/benefits documents.
- Changes and Leaver Administration:
- Production of changes letters for existing employees confirming promotions, change to jobs, salary increases, bonus etc
- Confirm in writing acceptance of any resignation by return to ensure their termination of employment is handled professionally and efficiently.
- Update and maintain comprehensive personnel systems, both manual and computerised (Cascade), to record all necessary employee information with due regard to the Data Protection Act.
- Produce management information and reports on a regular and ad-hoc basis, looking at reporting methods and adjusting them as necessary.
- Update all systems, records and personnel files with the above information.
- Update information on Cascade to interface through to the Payroll department on a monthly basis. This will include details of salary payments/deductions, Statutory Sick Pay, maternity payments, joiners, leavers etc.
- Respond to queries on relevant minor payroll matters wherever possible.
- Produce ad hoc data requests such as length of service, addresses etc.
- Reply to all external requests for employee information within 5 days. This will include mortgage requests, employment references, and requests for other information from Government bodies
- Sending probation letters using the correspondence section within Cascade
- Assist with the benefit administration
