Are you a Head of Communications or Communications Manager with significant external facing experience in the staffing, public sector or training industries? Randstad is currently hiring for a Head of External Communications with resource and leadership responsibilities for our UK and Ireland business. In this role you will lead Randstad UK’s external communications, positioning the company positively, protecting its brand reputation and managing the wider communications team. 

Here you will be an integral part of the UK Marketing Senior Management Team, as part of a Fortune 500 company that has a voice and with this role we are looking to make that voice louder. With over 400 positive media hits a year, numerous TV and Radio hits, meaningful CSR initiatives and substantial weight and gravitas in the jobs market in this role you can make a real impact and touch lives across the world.

Making an Impact 

  • To provide effective, relevant, brand reputationally sensitive communications, both reactive and proactive - aligned with corporate/human forward messaging and where appropriate aligned with marketing campaigns driven by central marketing and operational marketing colleagues.
  • To position randstad UK positively within Government channels, liaising with our agency, GK Strategy, to build rapport with appropriate policy makers and lobby effectively.
  • To provide strong, joined-up, inspiring, management and leadership of the Comms team, ensuring internal campaigns are creative and relevant; and that the internal engagement with them is measured and strong, with all key stakeholders aware of the commercial drive and rationale behind them.
  • To ensure Randstad’s strategic direction is translated and supported through high-quality communications advice and materials; including communication of business strategy, business change and incentives etc.
  • To help grow the business and protect and strengthen Randstad’s brand and reputation.
  • To help drive, alongside the Senior Internal Comms Manager, internal engagement with our marketing brand strategy (Tech & Touch, Human Forward, Seeing the possible in people etc).
  • To manage the Senior Internal Comms Manager whose primary role is to act as an internal comms business partner for the Internal Talent Acquisition team, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion team and wider HR function, embedding Randstad’s Employee Value Proposition.
  • To manage the Employer Brand Manager to deliver on the EVP and associated initiatives and projects.
  • To manage external suppliers, notably the UK/local agency (Air Cover PR) as well as the global PR agency, Headland, to deliver.
