We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and build on the successful communications momentum at Randstad UK & Ireland. Reporting into and encouraged by the Head of Communications, you'll be a truly experienced self-starter with creative ideas, particularly in the social stratosphere (but not only!). In return, you’ll enjoy lots of opportunities to shape and roll out excellent communications to engage our audiences across all channels. 

You’ll need to know your SEO from your SEA, how to amplify and leverage content and be confident across multiple platforms. You’re not afraid to pick up the phone to a journalist or blogger, and you’re thrilled when our content secures big-hitting coverage. Your attention to detail is second to none and you’re comfortable offering a creative brief to Design teams. Our Communications Manager needs to be able to dive into the analytics and research, and to spot opportunities to further boost success.  

With a fascinating and wide range of sectors within Randstad UK & Ireland - and never a dull moment in a fast-paced, commercial environment - there’s plenty of variety to stretch you in your communications vocation. From aspirational video content to thought leadership and white papers, events and everything in between, you’ll communicate daily to audiences ranging from job seekers to our top international brand clients, and not forgetting our own Randstad colleagues. It’s a Communications Manager role that never gets dull.

You’ll be someone who loves to keep your eyes peeled for the latest industry news, wider trends, and opportunities to elevate our employer brand position. You’ll work closely with our marketing and digital colleagues to quickly get to grips with what makes our clients and candidates tick, ultimately supporting them to convert interest into applications.  

It’s no surprise that you’ll need strong, all-round communication skills and experience, and that you are a true expert in your field with a passion for communicating. 

Having top-notch personal presentation skills is essential, as our Communications Manager needs to build a rapport with some of Randstad’s most senior stakeholders, including ED&I and HR colleagues. You might need to sign-off a quote with the CEO or pitch a content idea to an operational MD. It’s all about your ability to build trusted relationships, and have an eye on the details.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong copywriting skills essential – from snappy posts to meaty industry reports and awards entry writing
  • Ability to liaise with senior stakeholders within the business (and ghost write on their behalf)
  • Knowledge of the digital landscape focused strongly on social media
  • Ability to build rapport with senior internal and external stakeholders 
  • Ability to quickly understand a wide variety of sectors, subject matters and regional nuances
  • Proven experience of developing a brand’s content strategy particularly within the digital sphere
  • Excellent command of the English language and attention to detail
  • Experience and proven ability to self-manage within a fast-moving environment with competing deadlines and priorities
  • A creative type who can make their copy sing with well thought out visuals
  • A self-starter who is also a strong team player with strong values

Experience/Qualifications

  • Five years plus experience of a similar, fast-paced communications environment
  • Extensive copywriting experience with a strong focus on creating engaging social calendars and content 
  • You can hold your own when talking all things digital and you know how to measure success
  • If you’ve got experience in the recruitment industry, that really would be the icing on the cake!
