Business Development Manager - Sales, Management and Digital Apprenticeships
Role Description
The Business Development Manager will primarily generate apprenticeship opportunities with medium and large organisations. The role holder should be capable of identifying profitable business opportunities.
With a strong knowledge of the apprenticeship sector, they will be able to build lasting relationships with clients through a consultative approach that can demonstrate alignment to the businesses goals and long term return on investment.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Building solid relationships with clients / employers that generate reoccurring opportunities
- Identify opportunities within clients to sell the company’s portfolio of products
- Developing and managing strategic partnerships to grow business
- Prepare business development documentation, presentations and briefings.
- Provide guidance and expert advice to clients
- Accurately forecast and manage incoming business
- Maintain a database of employer contacts and new business opportunities
- Balance immediate sales need with a medium to long term strategic vision
- Maintain detailed knowledge of ESFA Funding Rules and Ofsted Education Inspection Framework
- Maintain strong working knowledge of funding rules, incentives and government policy for apprenticeships
- Build lasting relationships with vendors, suppliers and other networks that may generate new business opportunities
- Achieve sales targets in line with business objectives
- Ensure that administration tasks are completed, checking that all documentation meets compliance requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Manage a team of Business Development Managers to meet and exceed KPIs in line with business objectives.
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of the apprenticeship market and how the apprenticeship system works
- Strong sales knowledge and ability, people management skills
- A minimum of 3 years working at a senior sales level within the digital apprenticeship sector
- Excellent understanding of the Apprenticeship standards
